This newly introduced and highly recommended course by the Health and Safety Executive is for First Aiders in the Work place. This recommendation is designed to increase the level of first aider's effectiveness by ensuring that skills and knowledge learnt during these courses (First Aid at Work & Emergency First Aid at Work) are practiced and reinforced on a more frequent basis, than within the current first aid training structure.

Who should attend?

Anyone who holds the FAW or EFAW (previously known as Appointed Person). It is recommended that the course should be carried out during year 1 and year 2 of the training cycle.

Course Content

• Aims and principles of First Aid
• Assess the situation in an emergency
• Basic Life Support (CPR)
• Management of the unconscious casualty
• Wounds and bleeds

Completion Certificate

On successful completion of the course the delegate will receive a skills update certificate of attendance. This will be valid for 1 year.
