Nearly 200,000 people die each year as a result of Cardiac Arrests, the majority of whom develop ventricular fibrillation - a life-threatening abnormal rhythm of the heart. An Automated External Defibrillator, operated by a trained user, can raise the chance of survival by 75%.
Who Should Attend?
This half-day course is only available to:
Those who currently hold a valid First Aid at Work certificate and requiring training or refreshing in the use of an Automated External Defibrillator (AED), or Medical professionals such as nurses or doctors who wish to refresh their skills.
Course Content
The defibrillator training follows current Resuscitation Council (UK) guidelines and delegates can be trained in the use of an AED in only a few hours. Delegates will receive thorough training in the following:
- Resuscitation refresher
- Safety & legal aspects of defibrillation
- Life threatening cardiac rhythms
- Application and practical training in the use of the AED
Completion Certificate
On successful completion of the course, the delegate will receive a certificate of attendance. This is valid for one year - other leading training organisations' certificates are only valid for six months.
Course Prices
Course fees include the provision of the instructor together with all necessary equipment to facilitate the course and a course pack for each delegate (which includes a pad, pen and a First Aid Manual).
