The government, under the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005 has replaced most fire safety legislation with one simple order. Any person that has some level of control in a premise must take reasonable steps to reduce the risk from fires and make sure people can safely escape if there is a fire. The assessment must be recorded if there are more than five employees.
